🐝 Join us for an exciting workshop where you will explore the world of encaustic art! 🎨 This mixed media experience combines the rich texture of beeswax with vibrant oil pastels, allowing you to create a stunning, one-of-a-kind art piece.
🌅🏞️ For this workshop, you will send a photo of your choosing to our instructor, Ann, who will print and prepare it for you. Photos you might consider include a beautiful sunset you captured, a landscape of your cottage, or a picture your favourite flower!
🖌️ The first half of the workshop will feature a demonstration on the unique elements of this medium. You will also experiment with watercolour paper to familiarize yourself with it. 🖼️ Then, Ann will guide you step by step, using an extra copy of your photo to create your final piece. 🌟 By the end, you’ll take home a 6”x 6” wax painting that captures your chosen image.
👩🎨 No prior experience is necessary; beginners are welcome and encouraged! All materials will be supplied, so just bring your creativity and enthusiasm.
🍷 This workshop also includes a glass or wine, cider or non-alcoholic sparkling cider!

Comprehensive Encaustic Weekend Workshop

Join a group of fellow painters for an exciting weekend intensive to learn the techniques of encaustic painting with Ann Shier.
This workshop will cover the encaustic techniques of glazing, sculpting, painting, photo encaustic, photo transfers, collage, stenciling. All materials provided.
The workshop will be held over two days, Saturday, February 22nd and Sunday, February 23rd from 11am to 2pm.
No previous painting experience necessary!
Creatives at all levels are welcome.
